Busy Girl

Wow, I've been a busy girl! I shot Cynthia and Kalon's wedding a couple of weeks ago. It was fun and took WAY too many pictures... but how else is a girl to learn? I got some great shots, and some not so great shots, but I learned a lot too. I also shot my Mom's wedding a couple of days ago. It was different because we just had a wedding dinner the night before, and we were so crowded in this little room in a restaurant that it made it difficult to take very many pictures, plus I was the daughter of the bride... so we'll se how those turned out. Then I took family pictures outside the Temple as well as bride and groom shots, so a little untraditional, no reception, no shots of the wedding, but still good experience. (Her wedding was beautiful, btw). I'm realizing that I still have many things to learn about lighting, but I think I have great ideas and I can compose pictures really well. I would like to take a few more photography classes. I have so many different styles I want to try! I would love to do my own Maternity Photography, as well as pet, family, and artistic photos. I love the photojournalist type of style too, and I'm a sucker for either really vibrant color or high contrast black and white. Anyway, that's it for now. I need to be keeping up with this which will be a lot easier once school is OVER! :)

Welcome!

I just want to let you know how excited I am to finally have my own photography business. I love the art of the camera- mostly because it allows me to share beautiful moments with many types of people. Did you know that "Photography" literally means "to write with light"? When I am photographing I feel like I am writing your story with pictures. Memories bring with them a feeling, and my goal is to capture the feelings of your wedding, your pregnancy, your family, or whatever else you allow me experience for our photo shoot. That way when you look back at these pictures, that rush of emotion can come back to you. You can re-experience those moments that mean so much. That is one of the reasons why the name of my business is "Pearl" Photography, because your life is unique and sometimes the best moments in your life take time to create (like your wedding) thus making them that much more special.
